Terms of use

By downloading or using Comet the Shiba ("the game"), developed by Barqawiz ("I", "me"), you agree to the terms below.

Licence

The game is distributed through the App Store under Apple's Standard End User License Agreement (EULA), which governs your use of it. In short, you get a personal, non-transferable licence to use the game on Apple devices you own or control. Where anything here conflicts with Apple's Standard EULA, Apple's terms take precedence.

What you may not do

• Copy, redistribute, sell or sublicense the game or any part of it.
• Reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it, except where that right cannot be excluded by law.
• Extract its artwork, characters, audio or level data for use in another product.
• Modify the game or use it in a way intended to disrupt Game Center leaderboards for other players.

Ownership

The game, its source code, its characters, artwork, animation, music, sound and name are original works and remain my property. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of any of it to you. "Comet the Shiba", the character Comet, and the pals Scout, Nova, Pogo and Rook are mine.

In-app purchases

The game is free to download, and Levels 1 and 2 are free to play. Everything after them needs the optional one-time Full Game purchase. A second optional one-time purchase, All Pals, unlocks all five dogs straight away; they can still be earned for free with points from playing, and they are cosmetic, so every dog plays the same. There are no subscriptions and no ads in the game.

Both purchases are non-consumable: you buy each one once and it stays with your Apple Account. They are sold and processed by Apple under the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, at the price the App Store shows in your country. Refunds are handled by Apple, not by me; you can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. If a purchase is refunded, what it unlocked may be locked again.

Both purchases support Family Sharing, so members of your family group can use them at no extra cost, and Ask to Buy works as usual: the unlock arrives once it is approved. If a purchase does not show up after reinstalling or on another device, tap Restore on the unlock offer, or on the Full game row in the game's settings.

If you bought Comet the Shiba while it was a paid download (versions 1.0 to 1.2), you keep the full game automatically and do not need to buy it again. That covers the levels you paid for; All Pals was never part of the paid version and is a separate purchase.

Points earned inside the game have no monetary value, cannot be bought, sold or exchanged, and may be reset by you at any time from the game's settings. Resetting progress does not remove your purchases.

Game Center

Leaderboards and achievements are provided by Apple's Game Center and governed by Apple's own terms. Game Center is optional, and the game is fully playable without it. I may remove or reset leaderboard entries that appear to have been obtained by modifying the game.

Updates and availability

I may update, change or discontinue the game, or any of its features, at any time. I will try not to break your saved progress, but I cannot guarantee that every future version will preserve it.

Your saved data

Progress is stored on your device and is not backed up to any server of mine. If you delete the app, reset your device or reset progress inside the game, that data is gone and I cannot restore it. Purchases are the exception: Apple keeps them with your Apple Account, so they can be restored. See the privacy policy for what is stored.

No warranty

The game is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. I do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error free.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I am not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the game, including lost progress. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, and you may have consumer rights that these terms do not affect.

Apple's role

Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for the game or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide support for it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the effective date at the top of this page changes with them. Continuing to use the game after a change means you accept the updated terms.
